The Perfect Tree

[**Rosebud]

Domino went rigid when she kissed him. His jaw slackened though and he kissed her back. Then smiled and sighed. Glad for once he had been true to himself.

More then friends? He gave a crooked grin and rolled so his hands were firm by her shoulders, on either side of her neck, and his kneees were rested on either side of her waist. He leaned down and kissed her neck then sat up and smiled at her.

He rolled over on his back and pulled his legs up a bit, his eyes starring into the stars as the wind blew through the trees. The warm scent of flower danced in his nose and his body glissened with the humid air. Yet he lay unmoved watching the stars twinkle over head. His eyes twinkled along side as his hand moved and lay beneath his head. Finally he hadn't been so chicken to give someone he loved his true feelings. But the last time he had, it hadn't ended well. His stomach tightened as the thought came back, and he hit a 40 foot wall. What if it happened again? He couldn't take it, the last time made him this way, he had tried to commit suicide, but it's a lot harder for a shifter too. This time though, he'd find the biggest cliff and free fall...

KAtleyn smiled as he kissed her back. She layed beside him and put her head on his shoulder and looked over at him. She smiled again.
"Way more than friends... But you have to promise me one thing..." She said, looking at him again, her face pale still.
"You have to promise me that you'll never leave me....." She said, her eyes watery. She leaned over farther and put her arms around him, and looked into his eyes.
"Promise me that Domino and I'll love you forever." She said, her face serious.

Dirrn studied her face for a second and nodded. never. He smiled and put his chin on her head and closed his ears, taking in the sweet scent of her hair.

A tremor of heat rolled over his body, but he held the urge down. His mind in the high heavens. He whispered in her ear, I'll love you forever. Then his mind went blank and he fell into a light dreamy sleep.

His arm wrapped around Katelyn.

Katelyn smiled as DOmino whispered in her ear. She closed her eyes and took a breath, falling asleep in his arms, happy as ever.

She dreampt that she was running in a field, then she saw Domino. She dreamed that the sun was up and that it was shining, yet there were still stars in the sky. But it quickly turned dark, and she looked around her, and couldn't find DOmino. Everything went dark and cold. There were caws from various birds echoing around her, but she couldn't tell which direction they were coming from. She started looking around, circling where she was previously standing. Then she saw a what looked like a ghost, but it was more like a wraith. She started to run, but ended up tripping. She fell, and turned, trying to scoot back with her hands and feet, but found it impossible to move. Vines were wrapping around her arms, and traveling up to her shoulders, and soon englufed almsot her whole body, holding her down to the ground. The wraith brought out the hand he held behind him and then that's when Katelyn saw that he had a knife of sorts. A lot like a scythe, but not exactly. It had a long stick, but the blade of the knife was an angel's wing. She screamed.

KAtelyn shot up, her breathing labored. She forgot about Domino being beside her and forgot that his arm was around her, so she hoped she didn't wake him if he was asleep. She sat there, blinking and trying to catch her breath. That's when she noticed it had to be hours later, because the sun was competely down, the sun was out, and the horizon was starting to get lighter with the colors of dawn.

Domino woke steady and then shot up when he saw KAtelyn panting. Whats wrong. he held a hand over his eyes, then realized. It was morning.

He stood up and streached, Come on walk it off. Bad dream? he held out his hand and gave a soft touching look torwards her. His navy eyes trembling, studying her look trying to figure out what had bothered her.

He gave a soft hesitant smile and tilted his head, forgetting it wasn't cute when he wasn't a dog.

KAtelyn shook her head. "It was nothing...."
she took Domino's hand and smiled. She rubbed her eyes as she looked at the horizon. "How long were we asleep?" she asked him, stretching out and popping her knuckles.

Katelyn stepped closer to Domino and put her arms around his neck and swung back and forth. She put her head on his chest and hugged him tight as she remembered her dream.

Dirrn smiled and kissed her forehead and took a few steps to stretch out. I don't know, come on I'll walk you home. I have to get to work. He grabbed her hand, the grinned and let go and sprinted. He leaped then in a blink he let a cold blue flame burst from beneath him.

Both black paws touched the ground and he spun around and side stepped and barked. His tail wagged and his blue yes danced.

Quickly he ran around her legs and put his paws on her shoulders and licked her hands, then jumped down and trotted through the thick grass by the pond.

Katleyn laughed. She watched DOmino and giggled as he licked her hand. She quickly started running after him, quickly changing to dog form and picking up the pace.

She thought about when He said he had to get to work. That made her think of her old job as a part of the police squad in town. She loved doing it, but she quit for three reasons. One, being she didn't want anything to happen to her because she had just had something wonderful happen to her: Domino. Two, she didn't need all the 'publicity' and her face being all over town. Three, because it brought back too many memories that she would probably talk to no one about.

She quickly pushed the thoughts out of her mind and followed DOmino, laughing again.
