Riley nodded, not caring to question about what had happened to her, she obviously didn't want to reveal the whole thing yet.
Slowly he turned and looked at the knife, then turned and studied her trying to decide what to do with both her and the knife. Then kicked it at her, making sure the handle hit her insted of the tip. He wouldn't turn his back though.
He looked and saw her reach into her pocket, his heart raced and he positioned himself to attack and shift if she pulled a weapon out. Then the money he had dropped yesterday fell from her hand and he relaxed, both eyes went to blue insted of black and he took a deep breath. again sorry, I'm on edge lately... Looking at her he shrugged and looked at the money again. Slowly reaching down to pick it up.
He looked at her curiously and pushed the money into his pocket. Well, might as well be formal? he smiled, My names Riley Not about to give up his last name incase he had to be wery of this girl.

"It's oaky...I know how you feel.." She said, her eyes growing cloudy as she remembered the night all her nightmares would be about from now on.
She shook her head and heard him say his name. "Awe, that's always been my favorite name," She smiled and giggled. "My name is Jessica Jenkins, though some call me J.J., I prefer to be called Jess or Jessica.... I'm not really one for nicknames unless they suite the person they identify." She smiled at him.
She picked the knife up and pulled a small case out of her back pocket. She cleaned the tip of it and placed it into the small case, but put it into her front pocket this time. Only for easy access, though.
She looked at him and studied his face. "Who was the dog that was killed? You said something about that...... Was it the one you were with last night?" She watched him carefully. "But, if you don't want to talk about it, you don't have to.. But if you answer that, I'll answer any question you want to ask me...." She smiled a gentle smile and crossed her legs, sitting what people call "Criss-cross-applesauce".

Riley nodded and shook her hand smiling. Cool, people call me Blue, yet I don't know why. He grinned and then froze, the smile fading from his lips.
He sat on the ground and rubbed the back of his head when she talked about the black pitbull. Trying to figure out what to tell her, she was open to answering him, why not answer her?
That was my pet. He cut it short. He'd probably never tell her about Lila. A tear fell from his eye as he stood up. A wave of heat rolled over his body and he quivered trying to hold himself back. He wanted to run, to hide and to think about what it was that had killed her yesterday. Another few tears rolled down his face, his body quivered violently and then he blew. Fire rolled from his skin and he shifted. The blue pitbull stood. His body still quivering, slowly he walked past the girl and crawled beneath the chains. His sisters memory would be a sore one.

Jessica followed him with her eyes and slowly got up and wlaked over to him. She pet his head and then backed up.
"I can help you find them... I mean, the ones who killed the dog.... I'm looknig for some people as well... The killed my dog.. Maybe they're the same person... We could look together.." She offered to him.
Jessica wasn't one to offer her help, but when she needed their's or she knew they needed hers, she jumped at the opertunity.

Riley turned and looked up at her, then gave a sarcastic look. Doubting she'd been so torn up the other day over a dog. He hadn't been. He let the cold sink in and morphed to his human form.
The dog was my sister. Slolwly he looked at her and waited. No one would be all wow! Over that, but if they knew his story, and hers. They would.
Riley looked at her, another tear in the corner of his eye. And what did they really take from you? Looking at her, he knew more then a dog had been killed in her home.
You know what? No, we don't have to do this. I hate pity. Soo. What's your go-to shift? Trying to change the subject, anything to keep out the big black hole trying to swallow his heart.

Jessica looked to the ground then back up at him. "I'm sorry... I know how you feel.." She looked back to the ground and sniffed, then looked back up at him, her eyes red.
"I shift into a doberman... What a breed to pick, right?"
She backed up and sat a few feet back from him, hoping that he would ask what happened, yet, half of her not wanting him to ask. She wanted to get it out, and she wanted to find who did kill her parents, but she knew she couldn't do it alone. No one could.

Riley nodded and looked at her, she didn't seem the powerful, fearsome doberman type. Well, I didn't exactly want to be a fighting dog, but it's how I was raised. My mom, she was a shifter. A black german shepard and was amazing in the ring. Made thousands. When she had me, she took a break and the first fight she had afterwards busted her back up and she couldn't shift anymore. So she sent me in. I was a pitbull, perfect. I won a few and then it became a drug for them. They sent me in every night. Then I started to loose one night, but they had put in every dime as a bet on my win, so they fled leaving me to either die in the pit, or later after they had dumped me in the street. I still fight, it pays for the bills. That's where I got all these scars. You'd be amazed how many shape shifters are in the sport. You ever done it?
He looked up at her, the whole time he had talked he had been stroking a scar on his arm from the only fight he had ever lost without mean to. He'd lost plenty on purpose for his sister. Actually right before I saw you I had been in the pit. That's why I was bloodied up, well when I saw the dog go in the alley I planned on killing it with my sisters help. Make it a little bit easier to win in the pit, the dog looked big enough to be picked up and made into a fighter, but insted you were there and I felt bad.
Again Riley looked into her eyes and let a low heat roll through his body, ready to shift in a split second. Most shifters couldn't control the heat as well. Guess and check was what it was all about. Thoughts and stupidity made it alot harder then what it looked to be.
And your story? He looked down again, embarassed slightly, no one knew his story except himself and his sister..

Jessica looked to the ground after he looked into her eyes again.
She listened intently. "I'm sorry... And yes, I have been in the pit before... But that was a long time ago..." She said, her eyes again becoming cloudy, but shaking her head, shaking the memories away.
"Well, my story.. I guess I have to tell you since you told me yours...." Jessica looked out the window at the top of the building and noticed it was raining.
"Well... I decided to take a stroll and well, where I come from, I know how to fight and all.. but not this time.. This time I lost, and I payed for it... There were five different men, all surrounding me. Two bodies laid dead at my feet and I had no where to go. Then I heard a gun shot and everything went silent, as if all the sound was drained from the world... My skin felt cold, and my vision started to blacken. I knew I had only a couple seconds left before I passed out, but something gave me more energy. I don't know if it was because I wanted revenge, or whether it was because I saw the two dead bodies on the ground.. Honestly, I have no idea... But I got a sudden burst of energy. It was like a miracle, I though.
"But yeah..." She said, she took her shirt off, luckily she had a camisole underneath. She moved the spehgetti strap sleeve on her shoulder and revealed a hole that had a red center and a black outside. It hadn't healed one bit from that night.
"I was shot, and well... so were the other two... They lay dead at my feet while I was a coward and ran. I walked out on them when there may have been a chance for me to save them..." She looked to the side, her arms resting on her knees. A tear fell from her cheek.
"It's my fault they're dead.. But who ever killed them, I promised myself that I would find them and kill them in return... They killed my parents.... and it was my fault. They were after me. If I had just let them kill me, then they would still be alive isntead of me." She said. She turned and faced the other direction, her shirt in her hands still. Another tear fell from her echeek as she closed her eyes and held them tight.

Riley listened to her and looked around the werehouse thinking over everything in his life. Then finally looked back at her. No, you did the right thing. Whomever was killed probably wanted you to get away and themselves be killed. They probably would have taken the bullet for you. Riley smiled at her and waited for a reply.
He stood up from where he had been sitting and stretched his legs. Well enough of the torture! Bleh were just upsetting ourselves. I don't know about you but I wanna relax, forget all of it for just a bit, you? Riley grinned and took his bloody shirt of. He unbuttoned his pants and let the heat rage out of control. In seconds two paws hit the ground abandoning the pants for a fur coat.
He spun around and gave a short yelpy bark before he jumped the chain and ran into the woods, pausing to nuzzle the head stone of his sister before racing to the creek behind the building.
The small creek was a favorite place of his. The bushes were good to catch a good nap and the water wasn't murky at all. You could see fish swimming around, which were tasty after a big fight. Riley race torwards the creek at full speed and jumped in, his chest hitting the water with a thud and he howled. Letting his thoughts slip, and just let every dog instinct loose.
As he swam he drank a little from the pond, the fresh water felt amazing after all the hell of the past few days.

Jessica smiled and nodded. She spun on the ground and instantly formed into a doberman. She was tall for a doberman, and her coat was sleak and her body slender, just like her human form. She transformed right after rubbing her fingers over the bullet hole. It was right above her heart, and she bet that the bullet was still in her flesh. SHe would have to get it pulled out sooner or later, or it would hurt even more if it closed up with it still inside.
She raced after Riley and followed him to the creek/pond thing, but she didn't jump in. She simply sat, her hind quarters on her feet, and her front paws in front her her. She laid her head on her pwas and watched him swim.
