Moma looked at Jess. Curious are we? I live out here cause I want to, and cause shifters come to me for help. In a city a bunch of wild animals might look strange... I've had a giraffe shifter stop by, in a city a pet giraffe isn't somethnig you see every day. Moma looked at her and let go of Riley once they got inside of the house, she hit him with a kane, she owned it just to hit him with it when he came over.. literally.
Boy, go change. You look filthy. Imma fix up somethin to eat. Young lady, you change to. Bandage that cut up, I'll kick him till he apologizes later. She nodded and went to the kitchen and Riley mopped into a guest bedroom to change, showing Jess one where the lady guest stayed. It was a master bedroom, while the guys room was a small room of concrete and a pile of hay for a bed. Riley changed, washed himself off and walked back, food sat ont he table, and Moma waited, her head held high and a eye brow raised. Sit down boy. Riley obeyed, you would never see a shifter stand up to her. Or it might not live to much longer.

Jessica smiled as she walked into the bedroom. It was pretty for a bedroom. She quickly shut the door and looked at the bed. There were clothes laying out for her on the bed. She took them, and looked at them. The jeans were black, and there was a white shirt with a small white jacket to go over it. There was also a necklace laid out on the clothes. She guessed they were hers since they had a piece of paper with her name on the stack of clothes in fancy lettering.
She changed quickly and found a couple bandaids. She put a small one around her finger, and then wrapped her wrist in a splint type clothy thing. (for lack of words, always use 'type thingy' -nods-)
She opened the door after unlocking it and stepped out. Her hair was freshly brushed and put up with a scrunchy, the long black train of hair still floating down her back side even though it was up in a pony tail.
Her jeans were black, though some spots were faded. She wore a white shirt and a small white jacket with a butterfly over it. The necklace hung around her neck. It was one her mother gave her a long, long time ago. She wondered how the old woman got it. Jessica knew she had had it in her back pocket when she came, but she never knew if it fell out of her pocket or not. She didn't know.
She sat down at the table and smiled at the woman.

Riley smiled at Jess and looked at moma waiting for the okay to eat. She placed her spoon in the broth and took a bite. Riley did the same, feeling it was safe. Moma ate silently, and Riley looked around. His plaid black and creme button up and white under shirt, mixed with the faded blue jeans and old rope necklace was one of his favorate outfits.
He finsihed his soup food, and waited his eyes lowered to the bowl. Moma liked pure silence when she ate, or whomever talked got kicked under the table. He had been a chatter box when he was 15. He had bruses for weeks after he had left here from talking at the table. Riley looked at Jess and gave a silent warning not to talk.
Moma stood and placed her bowl in the sink then walked out the front door. Riley sighed and looked at Jess. Just don't piss her off and your good. he winked and stood up putting his bowl in the sink also. His eyes wandered around the room. Then rested on Jess. She's gone, finally I can relax. he grinned. He felt better now that he didn't have to think about his sister.

Jessica ate in silence as the others did. When the woman left, Riley started to talk. She put her bowl in the sink and sat back down on the couch in the small living room. She closed her eyes for a second and laid back, then opened them again, a lot on her mind, but mostly in pain.
She thought about the night her parents were murdered, how long ago it seemed, yet it was only one night ago.
She sat there, rerunning the scene in her head, trying to get a visual on the man that fire the kill shot to them both, and trying to figure the faces of the other four men that tried to kill her. She sat there on the couch, silent.

stop dwelling on whaatever happened. He walked over to her and sat down. Just don't dwell on it, you can't change the past. By trying your only ruining the future. He looked at her and then stood back up and paced. Irritated by being cooped up in the little house for so long.
Stopping for a second he turned to look at her. Anything you wanna do to take your mind off of it? he waited for a reply, then walked to the kitchen and sniffed around, finding what he had been looking for. Twinkies! He took two out and enhaled the first one and chucked the second at Jess. Eat. OR I'll wack you with a kane. Girl. Bad? so he couldn't impersonate as well as he had thought he could.
Riley poked around again, but found nothing interesting to him. When I had lived here, she had made me spend the whole day as a dog, I wore a freaking shock collar. If I went past a certain point I got shocked. Even if she wasn't there. I couldn't shift for some reason either, so I found all her hiding place for junk food, but today she's not stocked up. Or she changed them he shrugged and went and sat back down on the couch by Jess.

Jess set the small piece of food on the table and laid her head back on the couch and said nothing still. If she said something, she would probably say a wrong something and get in trouble for it.
A few minutes later, she fianlly spoke. "It's my fault my parents are dead, how am I suposed to let that go?" She looked at him, a tear running down her cheek.
She looked to the ground then starred at her hands. She rubbed her shoulder again. It was starting to bother her again for osme reason. Everytime she thought about her parents, it would start hurting. She casually rubbed her shoulder, trying to pass it off as she wasn't in pain again, but it was hard.

Riley sat by her and sighed. You don't. Time can't heal those wounds. My sisters dead, and it still hurts. I didn't let it go, but I learned to deal with it. I can bring her back to life, just like I couldn't make her shift.
A few years ago she lost a fight, and they shot her. I couldn't get to her in time when they dumped her body, a good man with good intentions brought her to a vet, who gave her a blood transfusion and rabies shots. The things the vet gave her, to try save her actually did more harm. She was stuck in her pitbull form. At least I had her, but now I don't... and it's hard to deal with that, but it's unreversable. No matter how much you cry over it.
Riley looked at her, a small tear rolling down his cheek. Your shoulder still hurts? He got up and started to pace again, his emotional side again gone.

Jessica looked to the ground the whole time he was talking.
"Yeah.. I guess you're right.. And no, my shoulder doesn't hurt.." She said. She was an excellent liar, but some were able to see through her lies. She noticed she was rubbing her shoulder again, and immediatly stopped.
She leaned back and rested her head on the back of the couch. She closed her eyes and smiled. She was pretty when she smiled. More so with smiling than not smiling at all. She smied a happy smile, one of a good memory.
Charlie stuck his tongue out. "You can't catch me, Jess!" "I bet I can!" "No you can't! I'm faster!" "Are not!" "Are too!" They argued till their mother came out. She smiled at them and told them it was time for dinner. They quickly raced into the house, food now on their minds. They sat down and started grabbing food. That's when Jessica's older sister came down the steps. "Well, I'm off to the movies with Jackson.." She said. The family turned to look at her. Her brother dropped the piece of bread he was eating and the small golden retriever puppydog came sprinting clumsily to eat it. "You look beautiful, Sayla!" Their mother said. "Thanks, Mom. Come on, Jess!" Sayla said, her cheeks red from the compliment. Sayla and Jessica walked to the door and waved. That was the last Jessica saw of her older sister. They was in a car accident on the way there, and she died on the way to the hospital. Katelyn's smile slowly faded as she remembered running, trying to find help for her sister, but she knew it was too late. She was already gone. It had been a bus accident, and she was very young, but her memory didn't fail her on that day. She remembered watching as the windshield of the car was shattered and a piece of glass go flying. It cut right across her neck, and left a long scar. It was right under her chin, but you could see it if you looked right at it.
Jessica's eyes shot open, and she leaned forward, her arms on her legs, her back huntched over. She breathed deeply, trying to forget it again. She subconsciously rubbed her neck where the glass had cut across, remembering just how she got it.

Riley nodded and rolled his eyes when she lied.
She started breathing heavy and he looked at her, not fulley understanding what she was doing, but she must have had a painful memory. You okay? Riley jumped, then got whacked on the head. He growled and walked outside.
Moma sat on the couch by Jess and rubbed her back, Breath. Your fine. It's a flashback. Your fine. her grammer instantly better while she calmed Jess. She sat on the couch rubbing her back for a litttle while, just so she could calm down.

Jessica took a deep breath and tried to calm down, but it was minutes later when she did.
She sat forward and thanked the woman.
"I don't usually have flashbacks, but now they seem to be coming back more and more..." She shook her head, not knowing what to say.
She got up after thanking the woman again and walked out to the porch, where Riley was.
She jumped the rail and walked slowly to the small pond, picked up a few rocks and skipped them on the water. There was a small thump as each rock skidded across the surface, then sank after a couple skips. She threw another, then closed her eyes, opened them back up, and skipped another. She wished on the stone. A wish to actually find another home.
