Riley watched the Jess walked torward the pond, he attempted to follow, but a familier hand caught him. Moma. Follow me, and her and I'll make you wish you'd died the night I found you. Riley snorted and walked inside.
Moma walked slowly to the pond and waded in. Her wrinkled skin seemed to tighten over her frame. A blue light erupted off of her skin and then a large shark moved slowly through the creek. The dorsal fin cutting through the water quickly as she swam down to the place she could sence Jess was.
She felt the water ripple as flat stones skipped over the water. Her slowly movements sent her through the water quicker then it should have. Once the ripples were over her she floated to the top and made a u-turn. Her dorsal fin again cut through the water, the site might send a shock through anyone near the water, and might make a human faint what she did next. The sharks skin wrinkled up and turned soft. Then it disappeared, but the water lite up like fireworks and an elder african american woman, fulley dressed, walked out of the water.
Moma emerdged from the water and climbed the steep bank to where Jess was and stood next to her and with a flick of the wrist a rock skipped through the water. Moma stayed silent, waiting for Jessica to talk.

Jessica watched as the woman came out of the water.
"I thought you couldnt shift?" She asked her, a bit confused.
Jessica continued to skip stones on the surface, a silent tear racing down her cheek.
"I just don't know anymore.. So many things have happened.... One thing I've never told anyone.. The flash back I had.. I was on the way to the movies with my older sister, Sayla.. She was going on a date, but the only reason she got to go was because she was taking me.... A bus ended up having a wreck, adn she died upon impact... They tried to revive her.. but.." Another tear slipped down her face.
"I lost my parents last night, and I lost my brother six years ago, but lost my sister seven...... I have no family left. Not even a sngle aunt or uncle either.... I"m alone..."She told her, more tears falling down her cheeks.

Moma nodded, Yeah I thought so to and then one day I tried and whoo! She looked at Jess and shrugged. It happens. When I was little my family was slaughtered, and I was raped because I was black. I got out of it because we had a pool, and I was being drowned and shifted. It saved me... no one knows that about me except you now. You tell anyone and your dead.
[/b] She looked at Jess and shurgged. She turned and picked up another rock and flung it out of her hand, it skipped three times then sunk. No ones life is perfect. Riley was beaten as a kid. His sister was his life. He never left her side. If she was out running, so was he. They were best friends. She stayed up all night when he lost that fight holding his hand waiting for him to wake up. He has to be hurting inside. JEssica looked at the three stones she had left in her hand, then took one and skipped it.
"I try not to show it, but for someone like me, it's hard... He seems so strong, though.. It's hard to tell he has had so much happen... He seems so positive about everything he does..." She said to her.
She skipped another rock. She threw it hard, and it skipped six steps out on the water.
"I just don't know about anyone.. Who to trust.. who not to trust.. I feel like I need to find a home.. with people that actually love me... Someone that actually likes me for who I am..." She said, wiping the tears from her cheeks. She threw her last stone into the pond and it sipped once, then fell to the water's grasp as it sunk.

Moma nodded. He takes it hard though. I had nights he would stay up and cry. Moma nodded again and skipped another rock. He lives with me you know. You can to, seeing as you've got no one else. I don't really know you, but you still can. she looked over at her and smiled.
She skipped another rock then without waiting for an answer she closed her eyes, he skin tightened and she jumped into the water the second she hit it a bright light shot in all directions, then the elder lady was gone, a dorsal fin lay where she had jumped into the water. It's slowl rythmic movements seemed peacful.

Jessica smiled as the woman said she could stay there with her.
She slowly walked back up the trail to the house.
She opened the door and walked in. She grabbed a piece of paper and wrote down something. She pulled the necklace off her neck. The white one with the white glowing orb on the end of it. She put it ontop of the paper and folded it up, then put it in her back pocket. She then turned around and saw Riley standing there.
"I'm going to go take a walk..." She said and winked at him, running out the front door and jogging to the trail that led to the woods. She then slowed when she was about a hundred yards from the house. She walked slowly, her hands in her front pockets.
She took her jacket off and laid it by a tree. She then took her shoes off and laid them by the tree opposite from it. She took off her socks and put them inside her shoes. She then started walking down the trail again. Not sure if anyone was following her, but she didn't care.

Riley saw her come in, but not moma and tilted his head. Feeling it was safe to leave, he walked to the porch and jumped the railing and landed on the ground with two paws and trotted, following the scent of Jessica.
He saw her take off her shoes and socks and such, he sniffed them and continued to follow her, curious slighty. Insted of following her on trail, he walked in the tree line. Where the dirt was higher so he didn't risk the chance of stepping on leaves and spooking Jess.
About a mile from the house he gave up, and trotted forward faster. He caught up with Jessica and rubbed against her leg to make sure she knew he was there, his docked tail flicked back and forth. He trotted next to her and sniffed the evening air. Trying to think what they could have talked about that made her so much happier.

Jessica slightly jumped when he rubbed against her leg, but then pat his head without saying a word.
She continued to walk on. It had been an hour of walking, and she came and stopped to a tree. She reached one hand up, and then another. SHe lifted herself onto the closet branch to the ground and continued climbing upward. She climbed to the very top of the tree in a matter of two minutes, her hands scraped already.
She got to one last tree branch and sat on it, letting her feet stretch out.
She looked over to her left, the opposite way in which she came. She looked out to the stars which were possible to see above her. She looked out over a small creek and watched as rapids flowed through the night. She saw an owl in the tree across from the one she was in and hear it hoot. She smiled and closed her eyes, taking a deep breath.

Riley looked up into the tree as she climbed. He sat down and watched her then laid by the tree. Boring. He stood up and trotted down the trail again and then spotted a dorsal fin he looked at it then shook himself out and looked in front of him.. to late. Before he could stop a tree stood in his path. He fell over, a big red mark on his forehead.
He stopped and starred at the tree growling. Then stepped around it, forgetting the fin in the water. He looked back at Jess snorted and then trotted down the trail again.

It was about ten minutes later when Jessica finally hopped out of the tree. She walked down the trail and gathered her things, not bothering to put them back on. She walked to the house and deposited the stuff in the guest room.
She laid the note she wrote on the dresser after getting it out of her pocket. She knew no one would probably find it in here with her in the same room, but she was wrong about many things.
She unwrapped it again and looked at her neat handwriting. It looked like calligraphy. No joke.
She read it to herself, but not aloud.
Dear Josaphine,
I took the liberty of writing you this note becuase I know you still owe me a favor. I am here to collect that favor from you. Encaseed in this letter is a necklace. Mother gave me this necklace, and now I am giving it to you for safe keeping. I can't take it where I will be going, or lack there of. And I need someone I can trust to hold it for me until I return (or again, lack there of). I still need it, so don't think twice about selling it or giving it away. I know how you are about trading things on the black market, so if I find out, you'll owe my double what you do already.
P.S. Thanks for everything. Including the advice you gave me when I lost my sister and brother. I never actually thanked you for that. I wouldn't have been able to get through it without you.
Jessica nodded her head and laid the note back on the dresser. She sat on the bed and laid her head on the pillow and fell asleep, a smile on her face.
